2012

Well we have arrived in 2012 and it is very exciting with all the plans I have made.  What makes some people so successful while others fall behind? Two people can be give the same education, same opportunities and the same lifestyle but one person can far outstrip the other and become very successful. Why is this so?

Again we should all know the answer because I talk about this in several blogs – mindset. Your inner world will create your outer world. The thoughts you think, and the actions you take, are directly responsible for the results you receive.

Anthony Robbins put it very well when he said “in those moments of decision, your destiny is shaped.”

Take the plans you have made for the New Year and chunk them down into manageable parts. I heard on television this morning that the most resolutions revolve about your health. Examples given were:

  • You want to lose weight.
  • You want to exercise on a more regular basis.
  • You want to stop smoking.
  • You want to eat a healthier diet and cut out the junk food.

There were several others given but these were the main ones. So, if like the bulk of the population, some of your New Year’s resolutions are similar to these, then we must make our plans on how to do this.

They say if you have bad habits you have to replace them with good habits.

One of my resolutions revolves around my health and that is, not to sit at my computer for long periods of time, and not getting up and walking around. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies here because we keep telling ourselves – just a little longer and I will have finished what I am doing. Wrong, get up and take a break and stretch your arms and legs.

Another thing I want is to create more products. I believe that I can make some good money this year and I want to go on another overseas holiday. I really love to travel and there are still so many places that I have on my bucket list. So I have to take action and make things happen.

Do You Procrastinate?

Today is action day for me-well to be truthful every day should be action day. But unfortunately we sometimes put off what we can do today till later.

Why is it that some times we procrastinate? Is it because we can be lazy or is it because we lack the knowledge and do not know how to tackle the task we should be doing?

Many times is the later. If we have insufficient knowledge – it is like a paralyzing fear. We want to start the task but because we are not sure that we know how to fully complete it, we tend to put it aside and not start it at all. This fear is often irrational but we tend to think, what others will think or say if you fail. The problem here is compound because you are thinking what others will think instead of just trying to start the task. When it comes to this, think about yourself and forget the others around you. You will probably find that they will praise you for doing something that you wanted to do.

Once you start, you may surprise yourself when you see that there was really nothing to fear because you find it relatively easy.  It is really about your mindset. If you believe that you will fail, there is a high percentage that you will. If you need help, why not ask. There are many people amongst your friends and colleagues who will help you, if you feel that you lack the knowledge or skills. Most people will go out of their way to assist you. There is a saying I love “You have to do it for yourself, but you do not have to do it alone.”

The thing about our society is we do the things we feel comfortable doing or things that we have to do during our normal day. This keeps us busy but to step out of our comfort zone and attempt something else scares us.

So this being my year, I am stepping out of my comfort zone and not procrastinating any longer. I am going to complete any task I attempt but I may need help along the way.

It is Never To Late

It always surprises me that people sign up and pay for courses but fail to take action. Some start and then stop.

There are many reasons and a main one could be they are trying to hold down a full time job and juggling a family and then find time to devote to the course. They begin to fall further and further behind and get despondent. Rather than have this feeling of sadness, why not concentrate on the other two and try again later – maybe with another coach and teacher. Sometimes, something has to give, and at this stage, it cannot be the day job that is producing an income, and it certainly cannot be the family, so that leave the last one – the course.

I still cannot see that ever member of IBCX has started a WordPress blog. Some have allowed themselves to be defeated before they started. Internet Marketing, like a lot of other things in life, requires the right mindset. I know I talk about this subject quite a lot but it is so important and people ignore it. You have to know what you want, believe in your ability and take the time to write down your goals. Affirmation and visualization are two of the most powerful tools that you can use.

I will give you an example of how it works. When you are young you started walking everywhere and you do not even know of the existence of a bicycle and you would not even know if you wanted to ride one. This stage of your development is called “unconscious incompetence” because you really don’t know-what you don’t know. Then for Christmas or birthday you get your first bicycle. You get to try to ride your bicycle and sometimes you fall off and sometimes you surprise yourself how hard you have to concentrate to stay on and ride. This stage is called “conscious incompetence.”  This is because you really do not know how to ride but we are trying to learn. As time goes by, with all your concentration and focus you finally ride your bicycle. This is called “conscious competence”. Now you do not even think about balance and using peddles and all the rest so now you have mastered riding – you have reached the level of “unconscious competence”. It becomes an automatic thing; you can just get on the bicycle and ride it effortlessly.

The true success rate for Internet Marketing is between 2-3%. If, as a child, you could learn to master riding your bicycle just believe in yourself enough to master Internet Marketing. The thoughts we have and the images we visualize will determine the action we take. Positive thoughts will produce results.

I hope this doesn’t sound like a lecture – what I am trying to say that all things are possible.

Secrets of a Successful Internet Marketer

What are the secrets of a successful internet marketer? Everyone wants to know the answer and I am going to reveal them here to you.

1. Have the right mind set.

Having the right mind set is important for anything we do but especially in internet marketing. Believe that you will succeed. But more importantly be prepared to work for want you want and remember we all learnt to crawl before we could walk.

2. Have your goals in place.

If you don’t know what you want, how can you go about getting it? If you only want to devote a small amount of time to internet marketing and you only want to earn a few extra dollars a month to help pay the bills, that is fine. On the other hand, if you want to make a lot of money you must be prepared to do the hard yards.

3. Get a teacher and mentor.

Now it is a useless exercise to buy every item offered on internet marketing, if you are not going to use them. So many ‘would be’ internet marketers buy so many products that are left unopened through lack of time and commitment. Find yourself a teacher who will take you from the very basics to the super advanced stage of marketing. One comment I will add here – be prepared to work. It is not true what those books and reports tell you – make $60,000 in the next 3 months. Always check what a teacher is offering you and always do your research. If you read the comments that former students have left, it will give you some indication of what they have learnt and even sometimes how far they have advanced.

4. What you can expect to learn to be a success.

Even if you have been playing around with the internet for a while, be happy to start again from scratch and learn the correct methods on the way through. One of the core factors you have to learn is how to drive traffic to your site and how to build a responsive list. You will hear over and over again the saying “The money is in the List”.  This is a basic fundamental that will enable you to be successful in what ever niche you choose. All new internet marketers find this the hardest part of their job, but if you have the right teacher – every facet of internet marketing will be a lot easier.
