Take Action!

What we all need for this New Year is to make the right decisions and take the action to accomplish our dreams. If we do this, that means we are not making any excuses or procrastinating. Do not doubt yourself and have no fear that what you are doing will get the results you are wanting.

We can all, from time to time, allow some form of doubt to creep in but that is allowing yourself to slip into a negative frame of mind. If you find that you doubt anything, including your own ability to be successful, take affirmative action. Action is the key to success. If you attempt something and you fail, try again. You will have given yourself a valuable lesson and when you try again you will know where you failed on your first attempt. Your only failing is when you stop trying.

Don’t let other people’s doubts, destroy your dreams. You will always have the well meaning friend or relative who tells you to give your dreams away and be realistic. They mean well but they can also try and change the direction you are headed. Just smile and tell them “thank you for your advice and I will think about what you have said.”

Very important -that you have all your dreams written down as goals so you know where you are going and how long it will take to get there. Always do one task at a time – otherwise, if you are attempting many things, you will tend to be over whelmed. If you reach this point, you sometimes find that you can do nothing because you have not prioritized your work load. I have had friends that have reached this point and then they start making all the excuses they can think of.

So this year are you going to be the one making excuses or are you the one who will take action? Only you can decide. Others can encourage you but you have to be the one who takes action and works towards achieving all you desire for yourself and your family.

So if you think that you do not have it easy, watch this video and rethink it.

2012

Well we have arrived in 2012 and it is very exciting with all the plans I have made.  What makes some people so successful while others fall behind? Two people can be give the same education, same opportunities and the same lifestyle but one person can far outstrip the other and become very successful. Why is this so?

Again we should all know the answer because I talk about this in several blogs – mindset. Your inner world will create your outer world. The thoughts you think, and the actions you take, are directly responsible for the results you receive.

Anthony Robbins put it very well when he said “in those moments of decision, your destiny is shaped.”

Take the plans you have made for the New Year and chunk them down into manageable parts. I heard on television this morning that the most resolutions revolve about your health. Examples given were:

  • You want to lose weight.
  • You want to exercise on a more regular basis.
  • You want to stop smoking.
  • You want to eat a healthier diet and cut out the junk food.

There were several others given but these were the main ones. So, if like the bulk of the population, some of your New Year’s resolutions are similar to these, then we must make our plans on how to do this.

They say if you have bad habits you have to replace them with good habits.

One of my resolutions revolves around my health and that is, not to sit at my computer for long periods of time, and not getting up and walking around. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies here because we keep telling ourselves – just a little longer and I will have finished what I am doing. Wrong, get up and take a break and stretch your arms and legs.

Another thing I want is to create more products. I believe that I can make some good money this year and I want to go on another overseas holiday. I really love to travel and there are still so many places that I have on my bucket list. So I have to take action and make things happen.

Find Your Passion!

Now this is completely different from what I normally write but I wanted to tell you about my grandson. He taught himself how to do this and is now regarded very highly. He is following his passion and he is having a great deal of success.

At the age of 12, he decided he would approach people to sponsor him as a surf photographer – bold move for 12 but that is the same age that Steve Jobs contacted Dave Packard. He is sponsored by a body board company. His mother bought him his first camera and within his first month, he was having his pictures published in surfing magazines.

This is him at age 13 after he had been doing surf photography for a year. The link to Flickr does not work because he removed his photos from there because, all though they were supposed to be under copyright, people were using them.

In August this year, his sponsor company took him to Western Australia to shoot in Esperance and the Margaret River.

He has certainly changed to a surfer boy now. If you click in the middle of the photos it will take it to full screen.

Last month, he had 4 photos published in a French surfing magazine and was paid for this. Each photo could sell at the moment for up to $200. When his photos are published, he is always paid and he is getting more and more published. He is on school holidays now but plans to go back to school next year.

We missed seeing him for Christmas day because he was contacted by a surfing magazine to do an all day shoot on the Gold Coast. The reason is, we are experiencing waves of 20 feet and more and they wanted some great shots. Some of the beaches have been closed. He is still only paid for the photos that they buy from him.

Jye now  has his name embedded in the photos to stop people from using them. So what started as a desire has become a great passion for him. Instead of having to work at KFC or McDonalds to earn some money, he goes surfing and takes his camera.

Well done Jye!

New Year’s Resolutions

“So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young”

We all recognize the words from the John Lennon classic – ” Happy Christmas.”

How profound are these words – line two is especially important. Let me ask you that question – “What have you done?”

There are so many people who started 2011 with so many goals and plans and have they achieved what they wanted to do? I know the answer before anyone says anything. Not everyone reaches the goals that they set for themselves in their New Year’s resolutions. The reason is very easy – sometimes life just takes an unexpected turn.

Some of the things that could have happened that have changed you entire life include marriage, divorce, loss of a job, death of a relative or close friend or the birth of a child. All of these can be very stressful and can often turn your life in a different direction. There are many other occurrences that can change your life but often any of  these changes can be only temporary.

So this year when you are thinking of your New Year’s resolutions – keep them practical and achievable. What ever it is you want, if you can believe that it is achievable and you are prepared to work, the Universe will work with you and SUCCESS can be yours.

Use affirmations and visualizations to achieve what you want. This must be a habit that you get into. See it in your mind and feel it . Belief and persistence are the two major cornerstones to success. Even if some crisis befalls you, try and remain positive and as soon as you have sorted it out, get back on track.

So I would like to add two quotes from Henry Ford.

“If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.”

                                                                  and

“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”

There is no such thing as failure only obstacles, in our way, that we must overcome.

Passion

I just wanted to let you hear the music of Chooka Parker. This young guy went on a talent quest in Australia and every time he sat at the piano he played an original work that he composed as he went – raw pure talent. He is 17, lives on the family farm and playing music is his passion.

Just proof once again that if you have a passion you should embrace it. It is the easiest way to success.

I just wanted to share this with you because I think it is beautiful, both the music and the videograhpy.

My Year In Review

Christmas is nearly here again so I want to take some time to reflect on this year as far as my internet marketing has gone.

Well I am not as advanced as I thought I would have been – to be very honest. Have I made any money – to be honest, I have probably spent more than I have made. I am looking to be more consistent with the income side of the equation in the near future. I have certainly learnt more this year and I know that my knowledge will continue to grow. I joined Internet Business Code X and I am going to remain a member there because I know I still have a lot to learn.

So it has definitely been a mixed year. I arrived back from the US in the middle of January and started an advanced course with a coach in the UK. Unfortunately his daughter became very ill and he quit coaching. I knew that I need to find a new coach and I had been in a few chat rooms with Gary Simpson and then he told us he was in the process of getting a coaching course up and running with Garry Parkes in the UK.

What a great course these guys have written. It is jammed packed with information and they have a forum where we all learn from one another. Anyone who has never done anything online would find this step be step course very user friendly.

If you do not know how to use a forum there are also videos provided that show you all you need to know. As far as the video tutorials go, there are also PDFs that you can print out.

The main thing with internet marketing is your mindset. You must have a very positive attitude and complete all the tasks in the course. There is always help – if not from your fellow members, there is a ticketing system available that is answered very quickly by either of the G men.

I know that next year I will be soaring and the money side is going to be more regular. I also know that I want to go on another overseas holiday and the money has to come from internet marketing. So onwards and upwards! So if you want success also why not join the IBCX course.

Networking

I have just completed a three day seminar here on the Gold Coast that was all about networking. Nothing like being in your own city and be able to go home each night.

The seminar was organized by Brett McFall and this was a line up of the guess speakers. They had flown in from the UK, USA and Canada. The price of admission to the seminar was a donation to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. Terry, Bindy and Robert came down to receive the cheque for $40,000

It is a great cause and it surprised all of us when Terry said, that to run the Animal Hospital with a permanent staff of 20 and a volunteer staff of 90, costs them $2,500,000 per year. There is no help from the Government so it is totally run through the amount the public is prepared to donate.

So if you believe in this cause you could also give and help the animals.

The subject matter was very varied from social media to buying and selling on ebay but nearly every speaker there assured us that just a few short years ago most of them had attended a similar seminar. It was reassuring to hear that and realize how far some of them had come in a few short years. They all agreed that they took ACTION.

Just wandering around in the breaks and talking to fellow attendees, I wondered if people really accepted the commitment to work needed to get their own business up and running. After all isn’t that what we all want here – we are after a successful business. Some of the comments made me realize that there were people who had no idea – just looking for the “push button” method. I didn’t want to be the one to shatter their dreams.

Some people forget that this is a business – not just a website but a business and you have to be prepared to work in your business.

There were people who had never done anything online while others were seasoned pros.

Brett opened the proceedings and he had some great information. One question he posed was “What if it doesn’t work?”  But then counteract that with “What if it does? “

So now I am back and I am ready to work to achieve all that I want to achieve. If it is to me, it is up to me.

Can You Succeed?

Today let’s look at how we can be successful in any endeavor we want to try. The first and most important part of success is to believe that it is possible for you to achieve what you are setting out to do. Never allow the old negative thought to try to tell you it cannot be done. If you believe you will achieve your goal – you will.

How do we go about achieving a particular goal? We have to have a written down plan. This plan may include you have to do more study that will allow you to reach your goal. Whatever you believe, it is going to take, include that in your plan – it maybe that you have to save some money each week to reach a goal. Be very clear here on this plan.

With your goal firmly set in your mind, we need to be able to track our progress. You cannot fix what you do not measure. Our measure might be sitting and passing some examinations or it may be watching the bank balance increase. What ever it is, we have to measure it all the time.

Now if you are studying and you believe that things are going slowly for you, you may want to increase the number of subjects you are doing. Word of warning here – remember you probably have other commitments that take a lot of your time so do not overdo it. Some people, who increase their subjects, find it very difficult to fit in everything else they have to do. I personally tried this and I ended up very ill at exam time and I was allowed to sit a post exam one month later. As long as you maintain that positive belief that this is possible – you will reach your goals. Never allow any person sway you from the belief that reaching your goal is possible.

To be successful may take time, but if you plan well and stick to that plan, then you will definitely achieve whatever it is that you set out to do. You may encounter difficulties along the way but like any problem, solve it and move on. Once you solve a problem, you will feel so much stronger to know that you are continuing in the right direction.

Do You Procrastinate?

Today is action day for me-well to be truthful every day should be action day. But unfortunately we sometimes put off what we can do today till later.

Why is it that some times we procrastinate? Is it because we can be lazy or is it because we lack the knowledge and do not know how to tackle the task we should be doing?

Many times is the later. If we have insufficient knowledge – it is like a paralyzing fear. We want to start the task but because we are not sure that we know how to fully complete it, we tend to put it aside and not start it at all. This fear is often irrational but we tend to think, what others will think or say if you fail. The problem here is compound because you are thinking what others will think instead of just trying to start the task. When it comes to this, think about yourself and forget the others around you. You will probably find that they will praise you for doing something that you wanted to do.

Once you start, you may surprise yourself when you see that there was really nothing to fear because you find it relatively easy.  It is really about your mindset. If you believe that you will fail, there is a high percentage that you will. If you need help, why not ask. There are many people amongst your friends and colleagues who will help you, if you feel that you lack the knowledge or skills. Most people will go out of their way to assist you. There is a saying I love “You have to do it for yourself, but you do not have to do it alone.”

The thing about our society is we do the things we feel comfortable doing or things that we have to do during our normal day. This keeps us busy but to step out of our comfort zone and attempt something else scares us.

So this being my year, I am stepping out of my comfort zone and not procrastinating any longer. I am going to complete any task I attempt but I may need help along the way.
